Our Partners In Conservation
Partner advocacy organizations and coalitions:
New Hampshire Land Trust Coalition: supporting and advocating for land trusts in the state of New Hampshire. Founding partner/member.
Maine Land Trust Network: supporting and advocating for land trusts in Maine, a program of the Maine Coast Heritage Trust
Land Trust Alliance: supporting land trusts nationwide. USVLT has adopted the Land Trust Alliance’s Standards & Practices.
Our land trust neighbors and partners:
Upper Headwaters Alliance (UHA): The UHA focuses on conservation of forest land and aquatic resources within the headwaters of both the Saco River and Sebago Lake – drinking water sources for half a million people. It is made up of USVLT and our neighbors to the east — the Western Foothills Land Trust, the Greater Lovell Land Trust, and Loon Echo Land Trust. The Alliance’s biggest push right now is the Crooked River Initiative.
Green Mountain Conservation Group: Our neighbor to the south, with a strong focus on water quality and aquifer protection
White Mountain National Forest: Our neighbor to the north and west
Tin Mountain Conservation Center: Our environmental education partner in the greater Mount Washington Valley
Each land trust project brings a diverse array of potential funders to the table – from federal programs to local charitable foundations. USVLT has received consistent support from these governmental programs:
