Winter Wildlife Tracking

Saturday, January 21st – 9:30am to 12:30  –  East Bear Paw Lands —  Conway NH

Winter Wildlife Tracking
Meet at the Maine Visitors Center, Rt 302 Fryeburg

The snow has fallen just in time for January’s installment of the Easement Exploration Series. This month, we will head to TMCC’s East Bear Paw, a 500-acre section of easement located off of Route 302, just before crossing into Maine from Conway, NH. Contained within the East Bear Paw property is a trail network, approximately 6 miles long, that is excellent for beginner mountain biking, hiking, snowshowing, and trail running.

On the 21st, Dr. Rick Van de Poll will lead us on an exploration of the Bear Paw Lands where wildlife abounds. This forested landscapety is teeming with tracks from fox to fisher and we will snowshoe in search of these and other signs of wildlife. Co-sponsored with the Tin Mountain Conservation Center.

Dress warm, bring a lunch, and snowshoes or borrow a pair from Tin Mountain. Call 447-6991 to reserve a pair of snowshoes. Email [email protected] with questions.

See you “on the land”.
