The 415-acre Bull Ring Annex conservation easement is located within Maine’s Upper Saco River Focus Area, an area of statewide ecological significance. In partnership with Maine Department of Inland Fisheries & Wildlife & The Nature Conservancy in Maine, the Land Trust purchased a conservation easement to permanently protect the property with grant funding from the federal Landowner Incentive Program, whose purpose is to protect and restore habitat on private lands to protect federally listed rare, threatened and endangered species. Significant conservation values include:

  • Several rare species, including globally rare dragonflies & state rare snakes & turtles
  • 94 acres of National Wildlife Inventory wetlands providing significant waterfowl & wading bird habitat
  • Located within a 9,125-acre habitat block
  • Adjacent to other conserved lands
    • 347-acre Bull Ring Preserve 347 acres
    • 111-acre Dragon Meadow Brook CE 111 acres
    • 1,345-acre Moose Pond Brook CE
  • 11,000 feet of riparian habitat on Moose Pond Brook, a significant tributary to the Saco River
