Conservation Easement

A conservation easement donated on this 2.2-acre property permanently protects more than 300 feet of shoreline on Conway Lake and more than 200 feet of road frontage on Potter Road (a town-designated scenic road). Nearly all of the shoreline of Red Lodge Cove is now protected by conservation easements generously donated to the Land Trust by several landowners, including the Cobbs family.
“Having been involved with land trusts elsewhere, I was delighted when a group took steps to set up a land trust in this area. I went to the organizational meeting and supported the organization. The existence of a local land trust now enables people in this area to either donate land or conservation easements on smaller pieces of land not accepted by the larger organizations like the Society for the Protection of New Hampshire Forests and The Nature Conservancy.”
