McCulloch Conservation Easement

Conservation Easement

December 28, 2007

Located in Conway, in the area known as Kearsarge, the 17.52 acre McCulloch conservation easement protects 1,665 feet of frontage on Mill Brook, which is a significant tributary to the Saco River. The public benefits of the easement include the protection of the quality of ground and surface water and wetland resources associated with Mill Brook as well as the continued use and maintenance of the existing x-c ski trails by the Mount Washington Valley Ski Touring Association.
The McCulloch conservation easement is consistent with New Hampshire RSA Chapter 79-A which states: “It is hereby declared to be in the public interest to encourage the preservation of open space, thus providing a healthful and attractive outdoor environment for work and recreation of the state’s citizens, maintaining the character of the state’s landscape, conserving the land, water, forest, agricultural and wildlife resources.”
