The Ham House (circa 1821) on Dundee Road - 200 Years and Counting!

In collaboration with the Jackson Historical Society, this slideshow presentation will include many current and vintage photographs of the Ham House and Dundee, where you’ll “meet” a few of its former occupants and neighbors, and learn a bit of Dundee’s history over the past two centuries. This program will also include a discussion of the historic character of this building regarding period construction techniques of a timber frame on granite slab foundation, and the challenges that lie ahead for this historic building. The Ham House is a current example of when Historic Preservation meets Land Conservation, and the importance of both Historic Resources and Natural Resources, and the work to find the best path forward. Presenters include Alice Pepper, Anne Pillion, Stephen Weeder, and David Shedd.
