American Chestnut Easement Exploration Series - with Tin Mountain Conservation Center

Join USVLT and our friends at Tin Mountain Conservation Center (TMCC) for a treasure hunt of trees! As part of our ongoing Easement Exploration Series, USVLT will join TMCC on Saturday October 13th from 9am to 12pm for a field trip to search for American Chestnut & Other Unusual Trees of the Mount Washington Valley. Led by David Govotski, a local naturalist and retired member of the U.S. Forest Service, we'll begin at TMCC campus and then make our way to one of USVLT's easement properties, Uplands Apple Farm in Eaton, NH.

Please also consider coming to TMCC's EcoForum: The American Chestnut Foundation prior to this walk on Thursday, October 11th from 12-1pm. Kendra Collins, New England Regional Science Coordinator for the American Chestnut Foundation, will be sharing about local efforts to restore one of America's most iconic trees.
