2021 Annual Meeting

Our Annual Meeting is where we all gather to talk about our successes of the previous year, and our future plans. All USVLT members are welcome to attend. We'll start with a virtual gathering via Zoom at 8:30AM. After, we'll join in person for an outing to explore spring ephemerals in Conway, NH.

Information about the in person outing:

Come explore bucolic agricultural land and floodplain forests, hidden in the middle of Conway. Join USVLT Executive Director, William Abbott, and USVLT Board members for a walk across conserved agricultural land in the floodplain of the Saco River. We’ll meet at 1234 West Side Road (the driveway leading to the large brown barn) at 10:45 sharp. After a brief history of the conservation easements (completed in 2006 and 2008), the group will head down to the floodplain fields – some of the most fertile within our entire service area. We’ll see spring ephemerals growing in the floodplain, discuss the river’s hydrology, and also see the proposed riverbank restoration project, which should be in construction late this summer. The program will end by 12:30, at which point attendees may either head back to their cars or stay to enjoy their picnic lunch (to have either on the cobble beach along the river or in the agricultural fields). The terrain is relatively flat, with one steeper pitch down to an oxbow, and the walk will be approximately 2 miles (there and back). Please bring your own snacks, water, bug spray and sun protection. Given COVID protocols, please also bring your own picnic lunch (if you opt to stay), and *pre-register* for the event by emailing info@usvlt.org. The event will be capped at 20 attendees (not including USVLT Board and staff members).
