Charles Thorne Conservation Easement

Conservation Easement

December 31, 2007

Located on scenic Potter Road, the Charles Thorne conservation easement permanently protects views of 310 feet of the forested shoreline along Conway Lake and 265 feet of natural, undeveloped landscape on Potter Road.  Nearly all of the shoreline of Red Lodge Cove is now protected by conservation easements generously donated to the Land Trust by several landowners, including Charles Thorne.
The easement is consistent with the Town of Conway’s Master Plan which states: “As so much of Conway’s character, quality of life and economic base is associated with the abundance and accessibility of environmental features, it is important that the town encourage the permanent protection of environmentally significant lands.”
