Why Volunteer with USVLT?
Are you looking to make a difference while having fun and connecting with others? Volunteering with USVLT is a great way to contribute to local conservation efforts, learn from hands-on experience, enjoy the outdoors and build friendships. Everyone is welcome - and you can do it at your own pace. Whether you’re interested in getting your hands dirty with trail work or serving on our committees, there are a variety of ways to get involved.
Help Care for the Land
Are you passionate about being outdoors and protecting natural spaces? At USVLT, you can help play a hands-on role in caring for conserved lands through activities like trail maintenance, property monitoring, and invasive species removal. Volunteering to help care for the land is a great way to give back to nature, learn new skills, and connect with other like-minded individuals. Some of the volunteer opportunities for land care include:
- Land monitoring
- Trail maintenance
- Trail building
- Sign installation
- Trash clean-ups
- Invasive species removal
Outreach and Events
As an outreach and event volunteer, you can help strengthen the bond between USVLT and the wider community. Whether assisting at tabling events, greeting guests, or helping with event setup and logistics, volunteers play a key role in making our events welcoming, informative, and fun. If you enjoy engaging with people and share a passion for land conservation, this is a great way for you to get involved. Some of the ways we rely on outreach and event volunteers include:
- Office tasks
- Leading explorations, nature walks, or informational hikes
- Photography, videography, and social media
- Tabling events
- Organizational tasks
- Distributing and hanging flyers
Leadership Opportunities
USVLT is always looking for passionate individuals to become involved on a leadership level. Our committee and board members bring a variety of skills and expertise to help ensure that USVLT remains true to its mission. We welcome dedicated volunteers who are interested in taking on a leadership role to assist with fundraising, advocacy, long-term planning, and strategic direction. Some of the volunteer leadership positions at USVLT include:
